AFR-IX telecom obtains ISO 27001 certification

Security is a top priority for AFR-IX telecom, so, the company has aligned with international information security management standards by developing and refining an Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Therefore, after a lot of hard work, the company has been certified by OCA CERT with the UNE-ISO/IEC 27001:2014 Information Security Management Systems, also known as ISO 27001, and it’s appliable to the information systems that support Business Services to Carriers, Corporate and Local Telcos, including MPLS, DIA, IP Transit, IPLC, SD-WAN, Managed Services, DDoS Shield and Cloud Services.

By obtaining ISO 27001 certification, AFR-IX telecom is extending the protection it has already been offering its customers against possible risks of improper access to or misuse of information, ensuring the privacy, integrity, availability and confidentiality of the data it manages. Moreover, regular audits will, in turn, enable the highest standards to be maintained at all times in this area, preventing the appearance of possible security breaches.

ISMS is a documented management system that consists of a set of security controls that protect the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of assets from threats and vulnerabilities. An ISMS determines how the data is processed, stored, transferred, archived and destroyed, and it’s related to all kind of data, from paper-based to electronic.
